pour about a half gallon of Liquid Oxygen on to it.

Toss a road flare from a safe distance

you get a 15' fireball instantly .

    Big bang UNLESS you have a lit match on top of the pile before you pour.

    Back in the 90's Some engineers at Purdue had a friendly competition to see who could light their charcoal the fastest. Many schemes were developed including vacuum pumps, aviation fuel, etc. The winner was the guy who used LOX. 60 lbs of charcoal, 3 gallons of LOX, and a custom made BBQ. After the fireball there was 20 lbs of charcoal remaining. They also determined that if you pour before you light it, the charcoal will explode.

    13 years later and I'm still in awe. But how to keep the O2 liquid on the playa...

      The charcoal was ready to cook, too......I remember this guy. He was actually a computer geek in their information systems maintenance, and won the Ig Nobel prize for this. Not the Nobel, the one for uber-geekdom........
